About Andrew Cardno

Andrew Cardno holds a Bachelor of Surveying from Otago University and a Diploma in Computer Science from Victoria University of Wellington. He is widely credited as a pioneer of Deep Zoom technology — the spatial rendering technique now foundational to modern digital mapping — and the inventor of Quartal Super Graphics, a breakthrough in high-density data visualisation.

His client roster spans Fortune 100 enterprises (Walmart, Best Buy, Mayo Clinic) and the gaming industry's largest operators (Seminole Gaming, Harrah's Entertainment). Over a 25+ year career he has built three companies, authored 15 books, and accumulated 80+ granted US patents and 150+ patent applications globally.

Outside technology, Andrew holds a 4th Dan Black Belt in Taekwondo, is a yoga practitioner, and is an active advocate for indigenous data sovereignty and Maori communities in New Zealand.
